What happened

Adani Power completed the insolvency-route acquisition of Vidarbha Industries Power, a 600 MW (2x300 MW) domestic coal-fired plant at Butibori near Nagpur, for an aggregate Rs 4,000 crore. The NCLT Mumbai bench approved the resolution plan on 18 June 2025 and it was implemented on 7 July. The plant takes Adani Power's operating capacity to 18,150 MW.
